HOT POWER YOGA FOR THE MIND, BODY & SOUL ☯︎

Meet THE TeaCHERS

  • I grew up in West Long Branch. I’ve been practicing yoga for over 15 years. I fell in love with the benefits that both my mind and body felt after leaving a yoga class. I love that no matter where you are in your practice there is always room for growth and self improvement. In 2015 I received my 200-hr teacher training and have been teaching for the past 8 years. I love coming up with fun transitions and sharing different cues to help students deepen their practice. Im grateful to share my journey with others and be apart of this amazing community!

My favorite yoga positions are lizard, pigeon, and frog. I love a good hip opener! I have a hidden talent for playing the Mandolin (not well) 😂 I play a variety of music in my classes but mostly indie folk and some classic rock.

  • In 2008, Amy discovered something that ultimately saved her life—Yoga. From her first Yoga class, to the creation of a local non-profit organization, to her current role at Prison Yoga Project and her private yoga therapy practice. Amy has long devoted herself to the principles and practice of Yoga. She witnessed how the practice of Yoga, which often begins as a physical quest, ultimately transforms into a journey towards self-realization, enabling the mind, body, and spirit to become connected. Equipped with experience in nonprofit & retail management, as well as numerous Yoga trainings, certifications, and thousands of hours of teaching, her passion and skill soon became her calling. Amy has helped to develop and deliver a Yoga practices & trainings that are nurturing, healing, and accessible for all.
Amy’s has been teaching since February 2011 & trainings include: Hot 26 training, Baron Baptiste Level 1 Teacher training in Hawaii, Drishti Power Yoga Training, and Yoga Gangster Training, Kripalu 500 Hour Advanced Teacher of Yoga Therapy, Currently completing 800 Hour IAYT Certification.
Amy's favorite pose is AsanaMountain - stand in your power
Her Hidden talet-hmmmm
She usually uses mostly yoga type music and Janet Stone, Trevor Hall, Satsang, Khrisna Das and the occasional Rhianna

  • Kim is from West Allenhurst and has been teaching yoga for 12 years.  She began her yoga journey while she was going through a big life transition after college.  Yoga helped her connect to her inner strength and have the courage to follow her dreams of leaving the corporate world and begin her coaching business.  Kim is also certified in restorative yoga and a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator.

She is passionate about helping people reclaim their power, follow their intuition and feel connected to themselves and their body through breath and movement.

Favorite pose:  half frog because of how it calms the nervous system while opening the hips

Hidden talent is I can guess people’s astrological sign and even down to the exact birthdate (I just can’t be put on the spot; it has to come naturally). :)

Music genre: soul, r&b, funk, rock, meditative

  • I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and moved to New Jersey in the summer of 2012. Some major life changes after my move lead me to start my yoga practice in February of 2014 and I’ve never looked back! I’ve recently complete my 200 hour YTT and am currently in the process of completing courses for trauma-informed yoga and obtaining my yin certification.

My favorite yoga position is Chair pose! Chair has a bad reputation, I hear people audibly groan when it’s cued, but I love a challenge. Cactus arm variation makes me feel so much power!

After consulting with my 5 year old, we agree that my hidden talent is reading books and nailing all of the characters voices.

I love to use instrumental, acoustic, and remixes of loved 80s, 90s, and early 2000s songs for my classes. Bouncing between a nice slow rhythm and a great upbeat flow keeps me energized and entertained (you may even catch me singing a note or two!).
